Bangkok’s venerable Bamboo Bar at the Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok recently showcased the signature cocktails of Yukiyo Kurihara- Chief Bartender of Mandarin Bar, Mandarin Oriental Tokyo

Recently, making a special guest appearance for one week only at Mandarin Oriental Bangkok’s legendary Bamboo Bar, Yukiyo Kurihara presented her signature cocktails and artistic approach to mixology. Creating cocktails with an elegant and sophisticated technique has helped define her leading position within the Japanese bartending community. Recognized as one of the world’s top 10 bartenders, Kurihara has been chosen to represent mixologists from Tokyo in international competitions, and she has won numerous awards within the Japanese liquor and bartending industry events.

As Chief Bartender at Mandarin Bar of Mandarin Oriental Tokyo, Kurihara heads up a team of female-only bartenders at the bar, setting a high standard for personable and welcoming service that is particularly comforting to female customers. She has created a number of signature cocktails for Mandarin Bar, including the Glorious Martini – made from Galliano (vanilla), rose syrup and Grand Marnier, plus lemon juice and finished with lemon peel rubbed on the rim for aroma sensation.

The Signature Cocktails

Glorious Martini : Tanqueray Gin, Grand Marnier, Galliano, Monin Rose syrup, fresh lemon juice.

Japanese Mojito: Satsuma Kohi ( potato spirit), fresh orange juice, fresh lime, cassonado sugar, spearmint leaves, with slices of orange.

Yuzu no Hana : Yuzu liqueur (yuzu is Japanese citrus fruit-flower), fresh lime juice, sugar syrup, sparkling sake of Okunomatsu FN, Sakura liqueur. Garnish with lemon peel.

Nihonbashi : Vodka, Yuzu Liqueur, fresh grapefruit juice, Blue Curacao, Suntory Midori. Garnish with lime peel and nandin (maple) leaf

Paradise Cafe : Cachaca, Passimo, Kalhua. Garnish with orchid flower.
