The recently launched Manhattan Bar at the JW Marriott Bangkok presents an alluring atmosphere for an evening of  stylish socialising, accompanied by fine wines, classic cocktails and delicious tapas menu selections. Created and managed by the acclaimed New York Steakhouse– which is directly adjacent on the first floor of the hotel- the Manhattan Bar has a distinctive design that draws inspiration from classic New York style – with dark timbers, ornate light fittings and plush furnishings- executed with exquisite attention to detail. The dark palette of the interior combined with dimmed lighting provide a warm feeling of relaxed sophistication and intimacy. The bar serves a well curated selection of premium wines, single malt whiskys, and expertly crafted cocktails. A delicious range of bar snacks and tapas dishes, prepared by the kitchen of the New York Steakhouse, perfectly compliment the drinks.

Manhattan Bar is conveniently located a short walk from the nearby Ploenchit BTS station and its central Sukhumvit address positions it in the heart of Bangkok’s most vibrant dining and night entertainment district. An excellent option either for pre-dinner aperitifs, or for a complete night of dining and drinks with friends, Manhattan Bar is a notable addition to the Bangkok bar scene.

Open nightly from 6pm, Manhattan Bar offers an attractive “Wine Gone Mad” promotion that matches tapas dishes and wine by the glass and bottle, with prices starting at THB99++ per glass, and with 4 tapas items for only THB100++.

And “Ladies Night Out” on Fridays at Manhattan Bar offers a group of 4 girls a free bottle of wine when dining. Add in the live DJ station and the party goes late into the night.

Full-height dark timber slatted panels swing open onto the 1st floor foyer- creating a series of discrete counter settings outside the bar room.

A relatively compact and narrow space, the main bar room features a gleaming black marble topped bar counter at one end, with seating at comfortable leather bar stools, and a backdrop of floor-to-ceiling shelves displaying the impressive liquor bottle collection.  Furnished in an understated luxe that evokes the style of an Upper East Manhattan drawing room, the elegant interior features plush grey velvet armchairs, contemporary black leather sofas, black marble low tables, and walls hung with framed black & white period photographs of typical New York scenes. The unpolished timber floor boards blend warmly with the charcoal grey wall coverings and ceiling, and the predominant dark timber panelling.

The design theme extends into the adjacent Manhattan Studio- the flexible private space opening off  behind the bar that can be utilised for private social gatherings, corporate events and meetings, and with its connected Studio Kitchen, interactive culinary experiences.
