Soundly established for over 14 years as one of the most popular dining destinations on the Stanley waterfront of Hong Kong Island, The Boathouse continues to attract with its pleasing combination of a relaxed, casual decor, well-executed seafood-focused cuisine, and a great location for both coastal views and people watching. Occupying a sprawling three level building on the prominent entry corner to the Stanley waterfront promenade, The Boathouse offers a variety of dining settings to cater for most occasions- from the casual vibrancy of the outdoor curbside tables, to the more elegant, air-conditioned indoor dining rooms set across the different levels, and the further outdoor dining options on both the first floor terrace and rooftop garden. Drinkers are also well catered for with the ground floor bar serving a full range of refreshing beverages including cold beers, tropical fruit cocktails, soft drinks and coffee.

Taking inspiration from the classic coastal architecture of the USA East Coast, the building exterior is coated in weathered Cape Cod blue tones, highlighted by the white timber window frames and shutters. Planter boxes filled with flowers and lush vegetation extend across the fronts of the terrace sections creating a pleasant garden aspect. The interiors of The Boathouse feature walls finished in shades of ochre, which contrasts harmoniously with the warm teak timber floor boards and furniture.

The restaurant serves an a la carte menu for both lunch and dinner, comprised essentially of dishes prepared with market-fresh seafood. Standout selections include the Chilled Seafood Platter– an assemblage of crab legs, prawns, crayfish, mussels, clams, scallops and smoked salmon rolls that is perfect for sharing; King Prawn Jambalaya– with chorizo, tomatoes and coriander; and the Bucket of Fresh Seafood– with assorted prawns, clams and black mussels – served with garlic bread and choice of sauce. The kitchen also serves a variety of non-seafood dishes such as meat grills- Lamb Rump and T-Bone Steak;  BBQ baby back pork ribs;  African Chicken with chili; and several pasta dishes.

The Boathouse is open daily for both lunch and dinner, with the weekend lunches always particularly busy. The restaurant is owned and operated by the highly regarded local restaurant company- Cafe Deco Group- with many popular outlets across Hong Kong- including their flagship Cafe Deco at The Peak . In total, the group currently have more than 35 outlets in Hong Kong, Macau and Sydney.
