Luca Cinalli from London’s Nightjar conducts a cocktail masterclass for Singapore’s bartenders at The Library

Recently visiting South East Asia for the first time, leading London-based bartender Luca Cinalli was invited by DIAGEO RESERVE World Class to act as both a guest judge for their local Bartender of the Year competitions, and also to conduct a series of private masterclasses with local bartenders. As head bartender at London’s acclaimed Nightjar– a Prohibition-themed bar renowned for their inventive cocktails and top notch service- Luca, with his masterful technique and professionalism, has garnered a high profile within the European drinks industry.
While recently in Singapore in his capacity as a guest judge for the first semifinal of the local World Class Bartender competition, Luca also conducted a private masterclass session with a selected group of enthusiastic Singaporean bartenders. Hosted at the highly regarded The Library– one of Singapore’s leading cocktail bars, Luca held stage behind the bar, demonstrating and explaining in detail the full repertoire of his bartending techniques, and passing on his tips for best practices behind the bar.

As part of the 2014 Diageo Reserve World Class programme in Singapore, no less than seven renowned bartenders will be visiting during the course of the year, including: Cross Yu, Diageo Reserve World Class Asia Pacific winner 2013; Jeff Bell from PDT, New York; Luke Ashton from Vasco Bar, Sydney; and David Rios, current title holder of Global Diageo Reserve World Class Bartender of the Year 2013. Each will visit Singapore to share their bar skills and secrets, as well as learn from the local bar scene through a series of intimate masterclasses.
