Located within a ground floor corner space that faces out onto the open air promenade of a popular dining and lifestyle mall on Singapore’s famous Orchard Road, Bedrock continues to entice a discerning clientele with both its recently refreshed menu of contemporary grill cuisine, and the polished, whisky-centric, drinks service. The dining experience at Bedrock is anchored on the premium quality meats and seafood sourced from Australia, Japan and the USA, expertly cooked with classic technique over wood-fired grills- and served in a handsome, meticulously designed dining space that exudes both an understated sophistication and welcoming warmth.
Conceived and operated by burgeoning local restaurant group The Big Idea ( whose impressive portfolio includes Fat Cow, Kinki Restaurant & Bar, and The Pelican Seafood Bar & Grill, among others), Bedrock impresses with its boldly original design and consummate execution of contemporary grill cuisine. Bedrock Bar & Grill opens daily (except Sundays) for lunch and dinner, with the bar serving drinks and snacks all day.
Working with a compact corner space on the ground floor of the Pan Pacific Service Apartments Orchard, the internationally acclaimed, New York based design firm AvroKo , created one of their hallmark, distinctively original interiors. Combining roughly-hewn wooden panelling, unpolished timber floors, industrial elements, and retro light fixtures, together with richly polished contemporary timber furniture and plush leather booths, the interior artfully transcends the commonly deployed “steakhouse” design template. Overall, Bedrock encompasses an open-air terrace at the front, a cosy bar at the entrance, and the intimate inner dining space that seats just 75 guests (including the private dining room).
Food & Drink
The recently revamped menu offers a concise selection of dishes that epitomise modern grill cuisine. Premium cuts of beef- sourced from Australia, Japan and the USA headline the menu with signature dishes such as USDA Prime Dry Aged Ribeye (300g) and Tenderloin (240g), and the jaw-dropping Tomahawk Steak- a massive cut of 1.6 to 2.5 kg of 400-day grain fed F1 wagyu from Australia- ideally shared by up to 4 diners. Bedrock were the first restaurant in Singapore to offer the Tomahawk cut when they launched it as their signature dish in 2009. Newly introduced grill dishes include Iberico Pork Striploin, and sustainably sourced Wild Halibut, and Yellowfin Tuna.
A thoughtful selection of over 45 single malt whiskies highlight the drinks menu at Bedrock- offering whisky aficionados an opportunity to enjoy rare and aged whiskies from the premier distilleries of Scotland. Other whiskeys available include selections from USA, Japan, and Ireland. A compact list of “uplifted” classic cocktails feature libations expertly crafted with premium spirits- exemplified by the renditions of Moscow Mule, Bedrock Whisky Sour, Manhattan, and Mojito. A specialty of the bar are the excellent versions of classic Old Fashioned cocktails- with a selection of six base spirits for customers to choose from- and served with hand-cut ice, angostura bitters, sugar and citrus oils. Additionally, the bar serves a full selection of premium spirits, wines, and international beers.
Inside Bedrock Bar & Grill
The main dining space references elements of traditional steakhouses with its attractive combination of unpolished timber floors, rustic planked walls, luxurious leather booths and subdued lighting.
A substantial white marble serving counter extends across the front of the kitchen- connecting diners with the Bedrock culinary team.
In the main dining space warm timber tables and chairs are complemented by plush leather booth settings across each side of the room. A private dining room is located behind folding metal mesh screens at the rear.
A sleek black granite bar greets guests at the entrance to Bedrock- providing a visual contrast to the rustic, timber-planked passageway leading to the main dining room.
