Top-notch modern British cuisine & drinks in casual yet classy restaurant with spectacular waterfront settingbread street kitchen singapore

Recently opened in Singapore within the Marina Bay Sands casino and resort complex by world-famous chef and restaurateur Gordon Ramsay, Bread Street Kitchen became the second Asian branch of the highly-rated London restaurant concept (the Hong Kong branch opened in September 2014). Closely modeled on the London flagship, Bread Street Kitchen in Singapore brings the same casual yet urban-chic brasserie-style dining and bar experiences that have made Bread Street Kitchen a hit on London’s restaurant scene since 2011. Set within a spectacular dual level space overlooking the waterfront promenade at Marina Bay, Bread Street Kitchen offers vibrant all-day dining from a menu of Gordon Ramsay’s acclaimed renditions of Modern British and European brasserie fare, while at the bar drinks options include consummate signature cocktails, a solid wine list, and British draft beer and cider.

Design   The distinctive decor follows a chic industrial-brasserie aesthetic that blends contemporary elements such as golden yellow leather banquettes and black and white tiled floors with antique-style light fixtures, utilitarian wooden bar stools and black metal-framed bench tables. On the lower level, a section of casual high tables overlooks the open kitchen while an adjacent semi-private dining room and adjoining walk-in wine cellar exude a sleek sophistication. Full height folding glass panels span the upper-level facade, providing fabulous views from the main dining room across the Marina Bay waterfront to the city skyline. The substantial bar section also faces out across the waterfront, with communal long tables extending out onto the open-air promenade in the evenings.

Cuisine  Heading the kitchen in Singapore, Executive Chef Sabrina Stillhart is a 10 year veteran of Gordon Ramsay’s London restaurants – most recently at the flagship Bread Street Kitchen. While closely following the menu served in London, some dishes served in Singapore have had flavours tweaked for local palates – while Asian ingredients were incorporated into new dishes. Standout modern British dishes on the brasserie-style menu include the signature BSK Burger; Traditional Fish & Chips; and Shepherds Pie. Other popular selections include Hot and Cold Starters designed for sharing; Mains such as the Dingly Dell pork belly, and Irish Angus rib-eye;  and the Chocolate fondant dessert.

Drinks  At the vibrant bar, cocktails are created with the same meticulous attention to detail as dishes from the kitchen. A concise list of signature drinks is themed by historically accurate interpretations of classic cocktails – elevated with premium spirits and ingredients – and an informed service approach that places precedence on guests’ preferences with ingredients adjusted to taste. Unconventionally, bottles behind the bar are laid out flat on shelves so that spirits can be selected by taste not label recognition. In addition to the signatures, the approachable bar team specialise in offering a bespoke cocktail service as part of the lively interactive engagement with customers.

Bread Street Kitchen is open daily from 11:30 am serving lunch and dinner, with the bar serving drinks until late. Reservations are particularly recommended for evening dinner service.
