Hong Kong & Macau Bacardi Legacy 2017 Finalists and their cocktail creations

December 3rd, 2016

Inspired by 150 years of The Bacardi Legacy, bartenders worldwide are tasked each year with creating a classic rum cocktail that can become the next Mojito or Daiquiri. A serious competition for talented bartenders, the current 2016 – 2017 competition is underway in more than 35 countries, with bartenders competing to represent their country at the global final to be held in Berlin in May 2017.

As the Bacardi Legacy Cocktail Competition returns to Hong Kong and Macau in 2016 – 2017, the city’s top bartenders are creating their own cocktail legacy that will stand the test of time. Judges will look for a taste experience that is popular with customers and a cocktail that is not over complicated to replicate in bars worldwide. After the initial judging of the top 20 entries, the local judging panel has selected 8 finalists to progress to the final stage of the regional competition with the Hong Kong and Macau, and Taiwan winners to compete at the global finals in Berlin during May 2017.

The Hong Kong and Macau finalists are currently promoting their cocktail creations through their home bars, guest shifts and social media – until February 2017 – with the regional final and winner announcement to be held on February 29th in Taipei.
