Stormies Bar & Grill at Elements in Hong Kong- popular bar & restaurant

Stormies at Elements is the Kowloon-side sibling of the original Stormies Bar & Grill that can be found at the heart of the mega-popular Lan Kwai Fong nightlife district on Hong Kong Island. Located on the rooftop open-air rotunda of the upscale Elements shopping and lifestyle mall that sits above the Kowloon MTR and Airport Express stations, Stormies is a convenient option for casual drinks or dining. With the massive 118 storey ICC Tower immediately adjacent, and the numerous luxury residential towers nearby, Stormies attracts a steady stream of patrons enjoying an after-work drink with colleagues and friends, or sitting down for a meal from the extensive menu of grilled meats and seafood, salads, etc. The relaxed, casual style of Stormies is complimented by the friendly service staff and attractively priced menus, making Stormies one of the popular socialising places within the Elements complex.

Stormies is operated by the highly regarded Cafe Deco Group, who are behind many of the popular restaurants and bars throughout Hong Kong.

Stormies occupies a long curving space that faces out onto the open-air rotunda space of the Civic Square lifestyle zone of Elements. The interior section of Stormies follows the curving contour of the main bar that extends the length of the back wall. Full height glass and steel framed doors fold back to open up the interior to the outdoor terrace. Tables for approximately 40 persons are available inside, with bar stools and high tables next to the bar. Adopting the same nautical theme as the original Stormies, teak timbers, chrome chairs and purple upholstery are featured in the interior furnishings. The outdoor space features a mixture of bench and high tables for casual drinking groups, and a section of dining tables under large blue parasols.

Cocktails and Bar Snacks-

The Food Menu at Stormies features a wide selection of grilled steaks and seafood, salads, pastas, sandwiches, and tasty bar snacks. A daily “S & S” promotion from 2:30pm to 5pm offers a choice of the daily soup combined with either a salad or sandwich/burger for HK$98 and HK$128 respectively. Popular main dishes include the Rib-eye Steak (10 oz) served with fries; BBQ Pork Ribs slab; and Stormies Cod Fish & Chips. A standout selection from the Bar Snacks is the Bucket of Sauteed Shrimps– in a coriander and coconut broth, served with garlic bread.

The Beverages Menu offers a large range of draft and bottled beers, plus a concise selection of wines available by the glass or bottle, including champagnes and sparkling wines. Stormies challenges the serious drinkers with a long list of shooters all priced at HK$58 per shot. And cocktails are well represented with selections of both classics and Stormies own “nautical-themed” creations. Some highlights would include- the “Slammer”- Vodka, Southern Comfort, Amaretto, Orange Juice, Grenadine; “Red Storm”- Vodka, Peach Schnapps, Passion Fruit Juice, Cranberry Juice; and “Thunderstorm”-Tequila, Crème de Cassis, Sour Mix, topped with Soda. Rounding out the beverage selections are non-alcoholic cocktails, smoothies and fruit punches.
