Re-defining the concept of fine French dining in Bangkok, L’Appart at the recently opened Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit is a delightful multi-faceted venue occupying the entire 32nd top floor of the hotel tower. Taking inspiration from Sofitel’s French heritage, L’Appart has been conceived as a contemporary representation of a luxurious 19th century Parisian apartment, with the expansive floor space separated into a series of interconnected rooms, each with its own identity. L’Appart offers a discerning clientele a series of elegant entertainment and dining options- an exquisite modern French cuisine served from the open kitchen of the Restaurant; sumptuous champagnes, wines and cocktails served from the Champagne Bar; DJs playing tunes nightly in the Lounge space; the serentity of the Library space between the dining room and the Lounge; and finally, the outdoor terrace with its spectacular panoramic views across Bangkok’s skyline. The timeless, understated elegance of the decor cultivates anticipation of relaxed and intimate indulgences.

L’Appart opens daily from 5:00 pm at the Champagne Bar, and dinner is served from 7:00 pm in the Dining Room. Bookings are recommended for specific table requirements.

Entrance into the open-kitchen of L’Appart

The sublime L’Appart Restaurant experience is centred around the gorgeously realised open kitchen- flanked on one side by an intimate private dining room, and the main dining room on the other side. Under the direction of Chef de Cuisine Jeremy Tourret, the preparation of the modern French cuisine is grounded in classic French cooking techniques, complimented with an exquisite, contemporary approach to presentation. The enticing a la carte menu is a finely tuned assemblage of traditional and modern French dishes, regularly updated with seasonal specialties. Some of the stand-out dishes include Starters of Goat cheese raviole, honey, coconut and lemongrass foam; and Pan fried and marble terrine foie gras duo, mango chutney, coriander fragrance. Main course highlights- Saffron tempura lobster, black ink risotto, savory vegetables; and Beef Rossini “My way”, truffle juice. And among the Dessert delicacies- Millefeuilles with light vanilla Tahiti cream; and Dark chocolate soufflé, vanilla ice cream.

At the Champagne Bar an impressive selection of champagnes beckons indulgence- with a list of over 30 labels from many of the prestigious French champagne houses, ranging in price from THB3,520 for the Laurent Perrier NV, all the way up to THB129,470 for the premium Louis Roederer 2004 Cristal Brut rosé. Champagnes are also available by the glass, plus a selection of “Bubbles Cocktails” such as A Goodnight Kiss- Bubbles, Campari, Sugar cube, Angostura Bitter; and Passion Mimosa- Bubbles, Fresh Strawberries, Passion Fruit. Daily special promotions include Champagne Flights and Bollinger champagne- buy one bottle and receive 2 additional glasses free.

Additionally a well-crafted selection of wines by the glass and bottle are available from the L’Appart wine cellar. And cocktail connoisseurs are well catered for with selections of delicious classic and contemporary creations. Other beverages served include local and imported beers, premium spirits, boutique cognacs, and apertifs. “Chefs Tapas Creations” from the L’Appart kitchen are served daily from 5:00 pm to midnight.

The open kitchen combines the bold red enamel and stainless steel contemporary design of the Le Cornue stove, with the classic elegance of antique style timber furniture of the chef’s table, and the white octagon marble floor tiling.

The main dining room is separated from the kitchen by glass- paneled doors. Restrained luxury features classic timber parquet flooring, and sparsely decorated white walls and subtle ceiling illumination.
