Spectacular new version of popular American-style grill restaurant & bar

Since its debut in late 2011 Bluegrass Bar & Grill has enjoyed a noteworthy popularity among Jakarta diners, allured by its American grill cuisine and impressive bar. Recently the restaurant has relocated to a spectacular new space on the ground floor of the Bakrie Tower office building- directly across the road from its original home in the upmarket Kuningan business district. With relocation has come both expansion and enhancement- albeit while maintaining the original DNA of the design and cuisine concepts. Specialising in generously proportioned servings of premium grilled meats and seafood, Bluegrass also attracts with a vibrant late night bar scene and excellent drinks service.

Taking its design cues from the original Bluegrass, the new restaurant features a rustic yet stylish contemporary decor of natural timbers, steel beams and raw stone walls.The centrepiece of the new restaurant is the massive island bar that bisects the floorspace- faced with raw stone work and topped with a stainless steel counter- it provides comfortable bar stool seating along both sides. Diners are seated at generously spaced tables laid across the expansive room- with a handsome glass encased private dining room a popular option for small groups or special occasions. A striking glass fronted wine cellar showcases the extensive wine collection in floor to ceiling shelving.
Bluegrass grill cuisine
Highlights of the grill cuisine include the signature ribs- versions include Texas Beef Ribs, Baby Back and Grilled Lamb. Other prime cuts of meat include USA beef tenderloin and the Big Daddy- a hefty 1KG cut of lean Ribeye- good for sharing among 4 diners. Other popular selections from the extensive menu include salads, grilled seafoods, burgers, and a “Bluegrass Sampler” menu of 80 gm portions of steaks, fish, sausages and chicken.
In addition to the extensive wine cellar selection, Bluegrass offers an enticing assemblage of both classic and creative signature cocktails. Some examples that typify the polished beverage service include the Bluegrass el Presidente– white rum, dry orange liqueur, sweet vermouth infused orange peel; Romantic Dragon– Ketel One, orange liqueur, earl grey syrup, strawberry puree, rosemary; and Penicillin– Scotch whisky, lemon juice, honey and ginger, topped with Bluegrass bitter. Complementing the cocktails, non-alcohol drinkers are well catered for with a good range of mocktails- try The Haka- crushed strawberries and blueberries in a kiwi syrup, shaken vigorously and topped with soda; and Indonesian Orchard- green apple and lychee muddled with mint leaves, shaken hard and charged with soda.
