Deftly channeling the spirit of Paris with its retro- brasserie design and hearty serves of classic bistro dishes, Loewy has captivated discerning Jakarta diners since its opening back in 2008. Occupying a spacious premises on the street level of the prestigious Oakwood Residences in central Jakarta, Loewy encapsulates the quintessential elements of the classic Parisian brasserie experience. Patrons can choose between casual all-day dining in the under-stated elegance of the main dining room, imbibing solid drinks at the vibrant bar, or enjoying a coffee and dessert at the pavement-side terrace tables. Open from early in the mornings until late at night, Loewy entices a cosmopolitan crowd of local residents, office workers and international visitors with its quality home-style cooking and laid-back socialising. The founders of Loewy have subsequently expanded on their successful dining and lifestyle concept as originally expressed at Loewy with the opening of the mega-popular UNION brasseries- firstly at Plaza Senayan in 2011, and more recently (September 2013) at Pondok Indah.
Diners can select from a thoughtfully assembled menu that features both classic European bistro dishes prepared by chef de cuisine Benoit Claeys such as Steak Frites (select from 9 cuts of prime beef) and Roast Organic Chicken; supplemented with contemporary interpretations like Duck Confit- slowly sauteed with green beans & smoked beef; and Seafood a la Planche– over zucchini & eggplant, served with aioli. Other appetising options from the menu include pastas, salads, local Asian-inflected dishes, plus a full selection of dessert and cakes- highlighted by the exquisite Mille Feuille; as well as the Classic Creme Brulee; and Profteroles. A breakfast menu is served on weekdays from 7:30 am until 11:oo am. And the hearty weekend brunches are always a hit.

Loewy interior
Taking inspiration from the classic brasseries of Paris- and their New York iterations- the generously proportioned interior of Loewy features the clean, uncluttered aesthetic synonymous with the genre. Traditional French timber cafe chairs and tables, and sumptuous red leather banquettes and booths, are overlaid onto a neutral palette of dark timber flooring, white tiled walls, and pressed metal ceilings. Across the street-front facade, floor-to-ceiling black metal framed glass doors fold back to open the interior to the external streetscape. While at the rear of the room, the mosaic tiled bar area features luxurious leather bar stools facing the impressively long, marble-topped bar.
Loewy cocktails
Serving first-rate cocktails, wines and other beverages has been at the forefront of the Loewy bar experience since its inception. One of the earliest bars in Jakarta to embrace the global resurgence of “cocktail culture”, the bar team at Loewy have consistently won awards for their bartending skills and creative mixology. In addition to their polished renditions of classic cocktails- constructed from premium spirits and fresh ingredients- the drinks list is regularly updated with signature creations and seasonal specialties. Top-class drinks served in the atmospheric bar space ensure a buzzing crowd most evenings- a seat at the bar being one on the most sought after in town.
