Consistently one of the more popular venues in Kuala Lumpur for casual all-day drinks and dining, WIP (Whipped into Place) buzzes daily with a lively crowd of happy customers. Established back in 2008 by the venerable Soul Society group, WIP attracts a mostly local and expat clientele, together with some savvy travellers.

Occupying a generously-proportioned corner space on the ground level of the fashionable Bangsar Shopping Centre lifestyle complex, the contemporary design of WIP has been inspired by the relaxed lifestyle of Mediterranean coastal resorts  – conveying a sense of casual escape from the hectic KL urban bustle. Spread across spacious indoor and outdoor dining and bar areas, the eclectic decor features raw wood finishes, gardens with water ponds, interspersed with quirky design elements such as the free-form bar and palm tree trunks. Seating choices include outdoor lounge settings, indoor high tables adjacent to the bar, and dining tables both on the expansive outdoor terrace, and at the more intimate indoor section.

Catering to a diversity of taste preferences, the kitchen team at WIP whip up an impressive array of dishes from a menu that features elevated versions of local comfort dishes such as Nasi Lemak, Seafood Curry Laksa and Char Kway Teo, together with selections of Western and North Indian culinary origins. Specialties include the Espetada – Portuguese inspired skewers of grilled meats and seafood; gourmet pizzas and pasta; burgers; and fresh seafood and grilled meats. For all-day grazing, the appetising selection of Bar Snacks offers a similar diversity of culinary background. While at the impressively stocked bar, WIP are renowned for their tropical Mojitos- with the drinks list offering around 20 refreshing versions. Selections of sangrias and martinis also feature, together with a wide selection of wines, champagnes, whiskies, premium spirits and beers.

WIP opens daily from midday, serving lunch, dinner and all-day bar snacks, with the bar serving drinks until late.
