Introducing a glamorous new dimension to nightlife and dining in Hong Kong in one of the year’s most notable openings, CE LA VI launched last month in Hong Kong’s famed Lan Kwai Fong nightlife district. As the CE LA VI brand extends its presence internationally following the success of the original  CE LA VI in Singapore, and a second outpost in Bangkok, the meticulously realised Hong Kong venue represents a further refinement of the upscale Asian-themed lifestyle dining and entertainment concept. Occupying the top three levels of the newly reconstructed iconic California Tower, CE LA VI entices discerning guests with a variety of elevated dining and nightlife experiences – at the open-air rooftop terrace cocktails and refreshments are served amid lush tropical plants and spectacular panoramic city and harbour views – on the level below the signature Club Lounge offers sophisticated mixology and a vibrant club scene late into the night – while the CE LA VI Restaurant serves superb interpretations of modern Asian cuisines amid the Asian-inflected, rustic-chic elegance of the dramatic dining room.

Design  Channeling its Southeast Asian origins, the design concept deftly melds rustic natural materials from the region such as raw timbers, stone, and lush tropical vegetation together with a stylish contemporary decor, to create a relaxing and comfortable environment that embraces both indulgent sophistication and understated luxe. The design theme flows harmoniously across the three distinct levels – yet each projects its own identity. Floor to ceiling glass walls on three sides wrap both the Club Lounge and Restaurant, enveloping the interiors with sweeping views day and night, while compact outdoor terraces on each level offer open-air seating options. At the rooftop SkyBar, timber decking, casual teak and rattan furniture, and lush tropical plants evoke a beach club experience, albeit within a spectacular cityscape backdrop, while the centrepiece stone jacuzzi hints at decadent partying possibilities.

Cocktails  Polished mixology is a specialty across all CE LA VI venues, with  an impressive drinks list of both signature creations and reinterpreted classics updated and elevated with Asian flavour influences and culinary ingredients. A contemporary Asian-influenced style of mixology offers evocative drinks typified by the Hong Kong signature – This is the Life – made up from pear puree, hibiscus water, peach liqueur, rosehip cordial and a splash of bubbles. Other beverage options range from premium spirit house pours, to aged whiskies, rums and house-branded sake.

Cuisine  The experienced international culinary team have designed a creative menu influenced by modern Asian cuisines and contemporary techniques.  Based on a small plates sharing concept, standout dishes reference local Cantonese and Southeast Asian cuisines and ingredients, with a focus on fresh seasonal seafood. After-dinner desserts are a highlight at the Restaurant with an enticing selection of indulgent creations.

Open daily, CE LA VI serves dinner in the Restaurant, while the SkyBar and Club Lounge operate from midday until late. Themed nights in the Club Lounge with house DJ’s include “Diamond Life” on Wednesdays and “Elevate” on Fridays – check the Facebook Page for updates on special events and parties.
