Established in 2015, SOHO Garden has become a popular venue for casual dining and vibrant evening entertainment in central Hanoi. Set in the leafy courtyard of an old French commercial building, Soho Garden comprises a sprawling combination of open-air and indoor spaces that can accommodate up to 400 guests. Open all day, Soho Garden serves up a large menu of reasonably priced Vietnamese dishes, complemented with selections of local and international beers. In the evenings, live DJs and bands generate an upbeat vibe, and together with the regular promotions and special events, Soho Garden attracts a vibrant crowd of both locals and overseas visitors. Tucked away down a quiet side street in the increasingly fashionable Tay Ho District, the restaurant is readily accessible to Hanoi’s Old Quarter, and offers good value dining and cheerful drinking for families and friends, while also catering for larger groups or corporate events.

Design   Following a rustic-chic style, guests are seated outdoors on the paved courtyard at simple timber bench tables, while the indoor spaces have an industrial feel with high ceilings and exposed beams, steel-framed full height windows, and raw brickwork. Open cooking stations span the street-side end of the courtyard, while a massive old bodhi tree provides welcome shade in the summer months.

Vietnamese cuisine  Diners at Soho Garden can select from a sizeable menu featuring authentic Vietnamese dishes and snacks. Among the specialties are the grilled whole river fish – good for sharing and keenly priced in a sharing package including 6 beers for only VND999,000. In addition to the selections of grilled seafood, roasted duck, fried or grilled chicken and meat dishes, Soho Garden are known for their range of nourishing hotpot dishes. As well as draft and bottled beers, other drinks options include a limited selection of wines, whisky and cognacs.

SOHO Garden opens daily between 10am and midnight – private spaces for small groups and parties should be reserved in advance – and check the Facebook Page for details on upcoming events and promotions.
