Rosewood Hong Kong takes No.1 rank as The World’s Best Hotel – Asia Hotels take 6 of Top 10 places

Celebrating exceptional and groundbreaking hospitality from around the world, the third annual announcement of The World’s 50 Best Hotels has been revealed at a prestigious awards ceremony in London on October 30th.
Featuring hotels from 22 destinations across six continents, Rosewood Hong Kong was awarded the No.1 spot, having previously been ranked at No.2 in 2023 and No.3 in 2024.
This is the second year in a row that a hotel in Asia has taken the No.1 spot, decided by the votes of more than 800 global experts, from hoteliers and media to seasoned travellers, each of whom is asked to nominate their seven best stays in the past two years.
The 2025 list reflects the hotel scene’s evolving landscape, with six of the top 10 hotels in Asia, alongside two in Europe and one each in the Middle East and North America. The Thai capital is on a high, with the Four Seasons Bangkok at Chao Phraya River and Capella Bangkok ranked second and third respectively. Meanwhile, Passalacqua on Lake Como came in at No.4, while Raffles Singapore took fifth place.
Asia lead the way in The World’s 50 Best Hotels 2025 with 20 ranked hotels in total, including four in Tokyo alone: Bulgari Tokyo (No.15), Aman Tokyo (No.25), Janu Tokyo (No.37) and The Tokyo Edition Toranomon (No.45). Elsewhere in Japan, Hotel The Mitsui (No.46) in Kyoto features. Both Hong Kong and Bangkok solidify their reputation as global travel hubs, each boasting three hotels on the list. In Hong Kong, Rosewood Hong Kong (No.1), Upper House Hong Kong (No.10), Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong (No.41) all feature; and in the Thai capital, Four Seasons Bangkok at Chao Phraya River (No.2), Capella Bangkok (No.3) and Mandarin Oriental Bangkok (No.7).
There are also 20 new entries, plus a roster of special award winners, including: Atlantis The Royal, which took the Lost Explorer Best Beach Hotel Award 2025; Mandarin Oriental Qianmen earned the Nikka Best New Hotel Award 2025; Singita – Kruger National Park, which received the inaugural Johnnie Walker Art of Design Award; and Soneva Fushi, which won the SeiBellissimi Art of Hospitality Award 2025 for its intuitive approach to service.
