Oriole has been synonymous with artisanal coffee in Singapore since it opened the original cafe in 2008. In conjunction with a recent design refresh and rebrand, the flagship Oriole Coffee & Bar has introduced an upgraded range of gourmet coffee products and all-day cafe dining menu. Conveniently located within a sizeable ground floor space at the Pan Pacific on Somerset Road, the cafe and outdoor terrace faces out onto the bustling Discovery Walk in the Orchard Road shopping precinct. Locally acclaimed for their carefully sourced beans, in-house specialty roasting, and team of skilled baristas, Oriole attracts both coffee aficionados and a drop-in casual clientele. In addition to the artisanal coffee offerings, Oriole serves up a menu of hearty all-day breakfast dishes and international cafe fare, with the newly introduced bar service offering creative coffee-inflected cocktails, plus a concise list of wines and beers.

Design  Exuding a relaxed vibe with a contemporary urban cafe aesthetic Oriole features a pared-down neutral decor of timber floors, raw concrete wall finishes, and utilitarian furniture. Seating options include the air-conditioned interior – with comfortable spaces either side of a central serving counter, while an expansive timber deck spans the cafe frontage provides pleasant outdoor seating at high tables sheltered under large parasols.

Coffee & Cocktails  Developed in-house, Oriole offers two seasonal blends that are served as the cafe coffee brews, and additionally packaged as roasted beans for retail. The seasonal blends are served hot and iced, while other specialities include the Coffee Milkshake, and Oriole Shakerato. Oriole’s signature cold-brew coffee – branded as Taisho – is now available mixed with a non-dairy milk – crafted from macadamias, almonds, and dates. A selection of coffee-infused cocktails are served at the bar, including the Oriole Martini, Kofirinha, and Espergroni – a twist on the classic Negroni.

Cafe dishes  Freshly prepared in the Oriole kitchen, the cafe serves an appealing new menu of wholesome dishes including All-Day Breakfast, Salads, Sandwiches, Small Plates and Desserts. Hearty breakfast dishes include the Humble Baked Egg Skillet, and Country Fried Steak – while popular menu items include Avocado & Toast and the Reuben Sandwich.

Oriole Coffee & Bar opens daily from 10 am – with the Grab & Go take-out counter opening early (from 8 am) serving a concise selection of coffee, pastries, and sandwiches. The daily Happy Hour promotion between 6 pm and 9 pm offers a 1 for 1 deal on house pour spirits, draft beer and wine.
