Hidden within the multi-level Potato Head Singapore, decadent drinking den Studio 1939 has recently introduced its latest cocktail menu titled STFU (Spice, Tea, Fruit, Umami), drawing inspiration from local flavours the bar team have grown up with and enjoyed throughout their lives.

The new menu offers 12 new signature cocktails for guests to try (all priced at S$22++), with half of the menu designed to be available in a non-alcoholic variation as well (all priced at S$14++). Developed by Head Bartender Daniel Fong and Operation Manager Kavish Hurrydoss, the drinks are very technique-driven, drawing inspiration from culinary ingredients and techniques more often found on the plate than in a glass.

“We wanted to offer drinks that are elegant and enjoyable to drink, but still fun and engaging for our guests,” says Fong. “Potato Head Singapore has always been known as a spot for good times and doing good, so of course we want to embody that theme in our drinks at Studio 1939.”

Highlights include the Curry On, a tropical and aromatic blend of Arak, pandan, coconut, calamansi and Jaffna Curry blend. The herbaceous Thyme After Thyme features mezcal, thyme, vermouth, star anise, Sauvignon Blanc and Aer. Fans of savoury drinks will delight in the Cheesy Melon High featuring a surprisingly harmonious mix of tequila, apple, watermelon, mint, feta cheese and oregano, or the Som Tum Mamuang,  a mix of gin, peanut butter, mango, salad mix and lime that seamlessly merges tangy, sweet, spicy, and salty flavours.

Based on the popularity of the Trust Your Bartender option from the previous menu, STFU features the Your Song (S$25++) which allows the team to collaborate with the guest to create the perfect concoction for their palate and preferences.

The STFU cocktail list follows the previous menu – Palette of Sounds – which brought a new level of creativity and hospitality to the speakeasy bar. The new cocktail menu is part of Potato Head Singapore’s latest offerings in celebration of its 10 year anniversary taking place this year. The bar has been one of the original cocktail hot spots in the now bustling drinking destination of Keong Saik Road, also including the casual Dining Hall on level two and breezy Rooftop on level four.

Studio 1939 is located at 36 Keong Saik Road, Floor 3 and is open daily between 5pm and midnight.
