The Clarke Quay area was once a waterfront collection of 19th Century Chinese godowns and warehouses, and is now home to Singapore’s most vibrant collection of restaurants, bars and nightclubs.  Le Noir has a prime position at the waterfront end of one of the blocks of buildings- and faces directly onto the riverfront promenade. An interesting combination of a casual outdoor bar and dining area, complimented by an intimate club / lounge in a space at the front of the building- Le Noir attracts a complete spectrum of guests- from casual passers-by stopping for a drink at the outdoor bar that protrudes out towards the promenade and offers a great “people watching” perch whilst have a cool drink, and then the indoor lounge, entered through a black glass doorway, is popular with a chic, sophisticated club going clientele.

The Outdoor bar has  barstool seating on both sides, and there is an adjacent area with tables for dining, separated from the promenade by planter boxes. A large overhead awning extends to protect guests from any rain, or the hot tropical sun during daylight hours. The style is contemporary and stylish, although casual. The bar is serving a full range of cocktails, premium spirits, wines and beers- draft and bottled.  Lunch and dinner are served daily at the outdoor tables, and late night bar snacks are also available.

Entering the Indoor room through the heavy black doors, the mood changes completely to that of an intimate, sensual space of luxury and indulgence. As the name Le Noir suggests- the interior theme is black – with black flooring, walls and furnishings,  highlighted by glamorous chandeliers and silk drapings overhead the central bar and on the walls. Seating is at lounges and small tables set along the walls, with a private area featuring a gold color upholstered lounge set up behind the bar. The central bar is square shaped, and finished in black with patterns of flower motifs encrusted with Swarovski diamante, and a large overhead chandelier. As one of Dom Perignon’s exclusive outlets in Singapore, champagne lovers at Le Noir will be amongst the first to taste the new releases from Dom Perignon.
The space inside is intimate- so this is not a club that attracts the mass crowds- expect exclusivity.
