Exuding a relaxed and convivial charm, Casa cafe in Jakarta’s upmarket Kemang residential and lifestyle enclave enjoys an enduring popularity among local residents and visitors to the area. Located in the heart of the main dining and shopping strip, Casa has been operated since 2007 by the same group behind other beloved Jakarta cafes and restaurants such as Canteen, Loewy, Union and Cork & Screw. Conceived as a laid back style neighbourhood cafe, Casa offers guests an appealing menu of familiar comfort foods, excellent gourmet coffees, and other beverages ranging from wines and beer, to the signature fresh fruit based cocktails crafted by the in-house mixologists. Friendly yet unobtrusive service is a hallmark at Casa, enhancing the laid back sociable vibe where guests are welcome to linger over coffees or drinks.
Casa is open daily from 11:00 am- serving food and drinks all day. Regular events include every Saturday evening the Saturday Night Light with guest DJ performances adding an upbeat vibe. Check the Casa Facebook Page for the latest updates.
Conveniently located on the upper level of a compact retail development that houses the iconic home-grown Indonesian book and design store Aksara, Casa occupies an open space wrapped with full height glass offering an outlook over the bustling local streetscape. Dark unpolished timber flooring and timber slatted blinds provide a warm natural palette as the backdrop for the retro-residential themed decor. An eclectic assemblage of 1950’s and 60’s early modernist furniture have been cleverly combined to provide the relaxed aesthetic that has endeared Casa to appreciative Jakarta urbanites.

The compact but thoughtfully balanced menu offers a selection of both Western and Asian comfort foods. Authentic recipes and fresh local produce are cooked with careful proficiency and a modern touch to create appetising dishes- ranging from snacks and salads, to hearty main courses, and delightful cakes and desserts. Some of the stand out dishes include the local Sop Rawon with salted egg, leek and bean sprouts, with bean sprouts and jasmine rice; Organic BBQ Chicken, corn and potato with BBQ sauce; and the Chocolate Platter of Tart, Dark Chocolate Mousse and White Chocolate Panna Cotta.
At the bar, the house-specialty are refreshing cocktails created from fresh local fruits, typified by drinks such as the Appleholic- comprising vodka, apple syrup, muddled apples and kiwis, mint leaves; and Orient Express- Citrone vodka, peach liqueur, with muddled mangoes and strawberries.
