New craft cocktail bar concept from the team behind celebrated Singapore bar Nutmeg & Clove

The team behind award-winning Singapore cocktail bar Nutmeg & Clove have revealed their latest concept, Chuan By Nutmeg. Conceived by Nutmeg & Clove’s founder Colin Chia and led by Head Bartender Joshua Pang, guests at the new bar are treated to both classic cocktail concoctions and premium tea-infused cocktails – created especially to match with modern Sichuan and Cantonese bar bites.

Located within a corner space on the 60th floor of the UOB Plaza – the intimate 30-seat bar stands adjacent to premier fine-dining Chinese restaurant Si Chuan Dou Hua – renowned for its Sichuan and Cantonese cuisine, the bar exudes understated elegance with its modern furnishings and carpeted floors – while enjoying breathtaking views across the Singapore cityscape.

Highlighting the drinks program are The Tea Collector cocktails – created to complement the treasured collection of premium Chinese teas served at Si Chuan Dou Hua. Under the guidance of Si Chuan Dou Hua’s tea masters, the bar team underwent extensive sessions of tastings to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of the various teas’ flavor profiles. Combining the art of modern mixology with the tea brewing process, a series of unique cocktails have resulted.

Headlining the cocktail list are the Goddess Highball  –  a refreshing cocktail matching the strong flavors of Tie Guan Yin tea – combines Haku vodka, Tie Guan Yin cordial, grapefruit bitters, and London Essence soda water; while the Fancy Jasmine packs a punch with Sailor Jerry spiced rum, black plum, kaffir lime, Jasmine tea, and clarified milk punch. Inspired by the earthiness of Pu Erh tea, My Pu’er Lady features a juniper-based creation made of Roku gin, Pu’er, yuzu, lemon, and egg white.

The bar menu also showcases innovative and spirit-forward cocktail creations, together with signature renditions of classic cocktails. Additionally, Si Chuan Dou Hua’s Executive Cantonese Chef Hoo Chee Keong has injected his creative spin on familiar Sichuan and Cantonese dishes to create a menu of bar bites – delicious in their own right and perfect for snacking with the cocktails.

Chuan by Nutmeg opens daily from 3:00 pm –  with an attractive Happy Hour promotion betweeen 3pm and 6pm offering quality cocktails at S$15++
