MO BAR, Singapore Launches its Signature Gin : A Modern Old Tom Imbued in Localism and Mandarin Oriental’s Heritage.

MO BAR at Mandarin Oriental, Singapore have recently announced the release MO BAR Edition No.l Gin– its first house spirit. Created in collaboration with craft distillery, Distillius in the style of a historic variant, the gin marries Mandarin Oriental, Singapore’s storied identity with a distinctly local expression of the city. Bottled at 40% ABV and presented in a custom ceramic bottle, MO BAR Edition No.l Gin is available for purchase at the hotel, alongside a cocktail flight (The First Edition Experience, SGD 61++) can be experienced at the bar .
To bring the vision to life, MO BAR, Singapore enlisted Distillius, a small-batch craft distillery known for translating stories into bespoke spirits, as its production partner. Informed by guest preferences for softer, approachable spirits, Kim specifically selected the Old Tom Gin style for its history and fruity profile, which resonates with Mandarin Oriental’s heritage-forward identity.
Drawing from Singapore’s equatorial and ‘Garden City’ moniker, the team experimented with ingredients that could impart tropical and floral characteristics. Eventually, dried mango, mandarin, coriander seeds, and osmanthus emerged as key botanicals, lending tropicality, citrus and delicate floral notes. Accentuating the brightness is a touch of Sauvignon Blanc to give the wheat-based spirit a subtle wine lift, while enhancing floral notes. The result is a refined and expressive gin with a gentle juniper structure, mellowed sweetness and a rounded profile for an ideal foundation across cocktails such as Mandarin Martini at MO BAR, Singapore, classic Gin & Tonic or Sonic, home experiments that call for a fuller-bodied gin, or taken neat.
MO BAR Old Tom Gin is available exclusively at MO BAR, Singapore, both online and in retail via Mandarin Oriental Cake Shop. Created to be enjoyed and kept, the 500ml ceramic bottle (SGD 150++) makes a distinctive addition to the home bar, a considered gift for spirits enthusiasts, or a decorative piece when finished.
At the bar, guests can experience MO BAR Old Tom Gin by the pour, across the The First Edition Experience, or as a full bottle served with a choice of four mixers at SGD 280++.
