Newly opened restaurant evokes 1920’s New York taverns with honest comfort food & solid drinks

Expanding on the success of the adjoining Rocket Coffeebar, the same Swedish triumvirate behind the chic Bangkok neighbourhood cafe have recently established Lady Brett Tavern. A compact restaurant and bar that channels a 1920’s New York tavern aesthetic, Lady Brett Tavern delivers a no-fuss style of local community-centric dining. Melding a solid beverage program headlined by well-executed classic cocktails, with an approachable menu of rustic, straight forward cooking, Lady Brett is an alluring dining destination for both the local neighbourhood residents, and an appreciative clientele from other parts of Bangkok.
Cuisine at Lady Brett
Heading up the kitchen team, Executive Chef Rene Michelena brings to Bangkok his New York style of bistro cooking, honed in the kitchen at the acclaimed Hong Kong restaurant and bar- Lily & Bloom. A charcoal-fired Josper grill / oven ensures masterful renditions of grilled meats and seafood, with standout dishes including the Fire-roasted Mustard Chicken- served with boiled finger potatoes and parsley butter; Braised Lamb Shank– with smashed purple sweet potato, kalamansi, and olive oil emulsion; and the Beef Tenderloin– a tenderloin medallion served with blue cheese crostini and raspberry vinegar pearl onions. Lady Brett Tavern opens Tuesday to Sunday from 6 pm to 1 am, supplemented by the already famous weekend brunch on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 am to 3 pm. Seating totals 35- including the bar and dining room. Table bookings are recommended most nights.
A private dining room on the first floor caters for up to 12 diners- an open view into the main kitchen adding a vibrant element to private or corporate gatherings.
Inside Lady Brett Tavern
Entry to Lady Brett Tavern is via a discretely placed doorway at the side of the building. A retro neon sign on the timber planked facade channels a 1920’s New York streetscape.
The dining room features a long leather banquette with individual table settings extending down one side of the room, with several booth settings at the rear of the room. Dark timbers are prominent within a decor palette of muted natural tones, subdued lighting creating an atmosphere for comfortable dining.
A well-stocked bar was always a prerequisite for the true tavern experience- and Lady Brett embraces the concept with its bold and handsome bar- prominent at the entrance.

Stormandy- Calvados, lime, ginger beer. Signature cocktail.
Frankie Four Fingers- Hennessy cognac, absinthe, cardamom, fresh pineapple, and citrus.
Spinach Salad- warm spinach-endive salad with pancetta and tomato vinagrette.
Giant Scallops Carpaccio- smoked pumpkin, overheated argan oil, yuzu kosho.
House Made Fettuccine Bolognese– beef, lamb, and pork with cream, red wine, tomatoes.
Brunch Burger- fried egg, beetroot, local Ku beef, cheddar, horseradish mayo, chipotle mustard, lettuce, onion, tomato.
BBQ Bloody Mary- charcoal-barbecued tomatoes and peppers, vodka, jalapeno, citrus, seasoning.
