Recently launched (June 2022) by The Standard, Bangkok – contemporary Mexican cuisine restaurant Ojo occupies a spectacular setting within a double-volume, indoor-outdoor space on the 76th-floor rooftop of the King Power Manahakhon tower. Combining its evocative retro-glam themed interior, panoramic cityscape views, and contemporary Mexican cuisine created by renowned chef Fransisco Paco Ruano, Ojo offers an exciting new dining and cocktail destination in Bangkok.

Taking its name from the Spanish word for “eye” – Ojo overlooks Bangkok as it serves Chef Paco Ruano’s signature cuisine with a menu that combines his traditional and contemporary Mexican techniques with a mix of imported and locally sourced ingredients to create incredible culinary flavors. Regarded as one of the most important figures of Mexico’s vibrant next-generation culinary scene, Chef Paco trained under the guidance of culinary heavyweights at various notable restaurants world-wide. At Ojo, establishing a sustainable supply chain for the restaurant has been a priority, and the Ojo team works closely with Thailand’s leading agriculturalists, fisheries, and other vendors to deliver the most meticulously sourced ingredients.

Ojo’s rich, jewel-toned interior aesthetics take inspiration from the continent’s precious metals and gemstones that drew prospectors in pursuit of riches to that part of the world. Also woven into the design are subtle references to the mysticism of Latin America’s ancient civilizations. The result is a glamorous environment anchored by gold hues and offset by organic, gemstone tones creating a visual representation of an architectural crown jewel.

Complementing its modern Mexican cuisine, a thoughtfully curated drinks program has been crafted by The Standard Bangkok’s beverage manager – celebrated local mixologist Milk Thanaworachayakit. At the elegantly curved bar standing prominently within the restaurant, cocktail aficionados can enjoy refreshing Mexican-themed signature cocktails from a drinks menu that also showcases an exceptional collection of mezcal and tequilas – including premium and rare labels. Tasting flights of mezcals and other agave spirits offer an introduction to the complex flavor profiles created by the fermentation and distilling of different varieties of the agave plant.

Ojo opens for lunch and dinner daily from 11.30 am to 2.30 pm, and for dinner from 5.30 pm to midnight.
