Madam Sixty Ate is a popular restaurant in the rapidly gentrifying Ship Street neighbourhood of Wanchai. Overlooking the tram lines of Johnston Road, Madam Sixty Ate is the expression of the contemporary culinary zeitgeist that seeks to deformalise the fine dining experience – offering an innovative modern European cuisine served in a relaxed, casual environment- interspersed with intriguing elements of playful fantasy- and devoid of any stiff formality and pretentiousness. Opened by acclaimed Australian chef Christopher Woodyard and his wife Bronwyn Cheung in June 2011, Madam Sixty Ate continues to delight appreciative diners seeking a refreshing and enjoyable fine dining experience.

Recently joining the culinary team is Head Chef Shaun Anthony who brings his extensive international cooking experience in fine dining restaurants to the kitchen at Madam Sixty Ate. Consistent with the culinary concept of Madam Sixty Ate that delivers a classic European cuisine with imaginative twists, the menu is updated seasonally to reflect the best fresh ingredients available. Dishes cleverly blend ingredients, flavours and textures, and complimented by exquisite presentation, create an intriguing dining experience. The well-crafted menu features both an a la carte selection of dishes, and also several set menu options that simplify the ordering decisions- at very approachable prices. Set dinner menu options include the 3 course “Delight” priced at HK$438; the 4 course “Divine” at HK$498, and the 6 course “Decadent” Tasting Menu at HK$650 (the tasting menu also offers the option of wine pairings at an additional price).  A popular set lunch menu is changed weekly- with 2 courses attractively priced at HK$ 168, and 3 courses for HK$198.

Standout dishes from the new “Winter” seasonal menu include starters categorised as  “Delight to Start” – Hokkaido Scallops with pressed duck leg confit, spice pickled pineapple and scallop crisp; Truffled celeriac soup, foie gras parfait in coffee gel, crusted steamed eggs, and shimeji mushrooms; and main courses- “The Centrepiece to Feast” –  3 Moods of Eliza; suckling pig terrine, house made black pudding, crisp pork rinds, broken kale sauce and white garlic puree; Head to Tail Lambwith stuffed macaroni, broccoli, green olives, and almonds finished with lemon puree; and Pan Roasted Halibut, glazed knotroot and smoked bacon, globe artichokes and emulsified citrus vodka. The desserts are equally impressive- The Edible Pornstar; passion fruit panna cotta with vanilla poached lychee, coconut sorbet, pornstar foam and coconut meringue; and Smashed Chocolate; bittersweet chocolate aero, bitters toffee, star anise cake, blood orange sorbet and a chocolate glass for you to smash.

Madam Sixty Ate is located on the first floor/ Podium level of the cosmopolitan J Senses lifestyle and dining complex at the corner of Johnston Road and Ship Street, with illustrious dining establishments such as BO Innovation, The Pawn and 22 Ships as neighbours. The restaurant has three sections- a cocktail bar and lounge area adjacent to the entrance, the main dining room with open kitchen, and an outdoor terrace. The design features a bright, modern approach with full height glass on two sides that suffuse the interior with natural daylight; and in the evenings, the ambient glow of the Wanchai neon signs blends with the subdued interior lighting. Whimsical elements- including artworks, memorabilia and soft furnishings, are inserted into the decor to add a relaxed, casual playfulness to the atmosphere. The handsome open kitchen stands prominently at one end of the room- in close proximity to the dining tables for an interactive dining experience.

Madam Sixty Ate is open daily, serving lunch Monday to Friday from  12 pm to 3 pm;  weekend brunches on Saturday and Sunday from 11 am to  3 pm; and dinner Mondy to Sunday from 6 pm – with last orders at 10:30 pm.
